Lead Guitar & Vocals

The original lead guitarist for The Moondogs, Paul marks his return with a renewed interest in a knack for arrangement and production that will help the songs achieve that "showroom shine." A songwriter himself, Paul hopes to add material to the repertoire that will showcase the band's growing diversity and abilities.  His style of play touches upon elements of jazz, blues, country and even hard rock, yet always in a manner that is both appropriate and inspiring. He describes his playing as "not as good as it should be but better than it ought to be" and frowns playfully at anyone who would consider him a "shredder."

While billed as "lead guitarist" for the band, Paul is not above laying down a solid rhythm for others to embellish, and he is equally comfortable on acoustic or electric guitars.  He has recently shown a desire in exploring other instruments and hopes to add mandolin, banjo, dobro and hammered dulcimer to his arsenal.

Much of this interest in other instruments stems from his concurrent affiliation with Wry Dawn, a "grass rock" outfit that marries a folk sensibility with rock and bluegrass overtones.  Wry Dawn founder Doug "DW" Hadley is largely responsible for encouraging Paul's explorations beyond the six-string realm. Of course, The Moondogs aspire to take him away from all that...!

Apart from his association with Wry Dawn, Paul also sits in with Ft. Worth buddy (and Wry Dawn alumni) Jay London as a member of the Damnearaband when time permits, and the friendship he's developed with Dallas-based Sunday Drive hints at occasional collaborations with them as well.
