September 14, 2008 We were very sad to learn that Hurricane Ike had destroyed a historical place that we had the privilege of playing at, The Balinese Room in Galveston, Texas. We were there in January of 2005, and we'll always treasure the memories of that gig! For pictures, go to the gallery page and click on "The Balinese Room."

May 1, 2008 WE'RE BACK, FINALLY! Now that all the pieces are in place (once again and for the final time we hope), we're starting to schedule gigs again. Our first one back will be Saturday, May 24th at John B's in Arlington (Pantego actually) beginning at 9:00 pm. For a map, go to the "Schedule" page. We haven't played anywhere locally this year, other than private engagements, so we're eager to get back at it. We've always played at John B's on a Friday night, that's why we're excited to get in there on a Saturday! We really want to fill the place up, so we're counting on you to come!
April 24, 2008 Most of you know Gary has been playing drums since we recorded the CD last year, but his other love is the acoustic guitar, so we've been actively looking for a drummer of Gary's caliber to take his place so he can return to the guitar. After months of looking and numerous auditions, we've finally found the drummer we've been hoping would come along, and we couldn't be more excited; his name is Steve Choate. The funny thing is that Bryan has known Steve for over 40 years, they lived across the street from each other as children! Steve comes to us with decades of experience and is well known locally as a talented musician. Check him out on his MySpace page, you too will be impressed! As you know we haven't played anywhere for several months, but that's about to change now that Steve has joined up with us. He came to the audition already knowing every song we've recorded, so we know it won't take him long to have the others under his belt. You've been asking when we'll be back out there playing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it won't be long now, we'll be in touch!
February 7, 2008 We received a posting on the "Let Us Know" page of this site today asking if we were missing our trailer. The unidentified Samaritan went on to say one of his mechanics saw a trailer in south Arlington with The Moondogs name on it, and there were people taking the decals off of it. First of all, let me thank you for reporting this sighting to us, but fortunately is was not our trailer. I personally keep our trailer locked up as if it were holding bars of gold and platinum, just ask the rest of the band. They get tired of having to go through the motions of locking and unlocking it before and after gigs! Not only are both wheels locked with tamper-proof boots, there are 1" thick hardened steel cables locked through the wheels and axle. Also, the tongue has two tamper-proof locks on it. As far as the doors go, they have 2 separate hardened bolted locks that make it easier just to cut a hole in the walls of the trailer! On top of all this, it's kept inside a fenced, industrial warehouse with 6" thick steel reinforced concrete walls! Oh yeah, the warehouse has a monitored security system with video as well! Last but not least, during the day when the building is open, there are 3 pit bulls and a rather large boxer roaming the premises! This is all true, I promise! So, if there's anybody out there willing to put in the effort it would take to heist a $2000.00 trailer, then they've earned it and can have it (it's insured anyway!) Bryan Sawyer

December 7, 2007 The Colorado trip draws near and we're getting excited! We'll be in Loveland, Colorado on Friday, January 4th at the historic Rialto Theatre for "SongPlanet Saves The Planet" and we need your help! December 4, 2007 Well folks, our dreams of a Grammy were dashed today when the announcements were made for this year's nominees, and our name wasn't called. Of course we knew we were a long shot, but we sure had fun for a couple of months just being considered and imagining the possibilities that come with a nomination. Although we were disappointed with the news, we're now even more determined to write more great music that will hopefully lead to another opportunity. We appreciate all the kind emails of support during this period, thank you!
November 30, 2007 We received a really nice review written by Ben Magill of The Dallas Advocate Magazine this week, so please go to our newly added PRESS page to check it out! You will also find there the article written about us in October by The News Connection, a local periodical that covers the area just north of Dallas and Fort Worth, after they interviewed Gary and Lisa, so be sure to check that one out too!

THANKS FOR LISTENING!
October 3, 2007 Gary and Lisa were recently interviewed by their hometown newspaper, The News Connection, concerning our Grammy nomination submission, so click here to check out the article!
Very Exciting News! A voting member of NARAS heard our CD and loved it so much he has submitted it for a Grammy nomination! We'll know (if we passed the first round) in mid October if we're selected to go further, but we are officially in the running for a Grammy!

September 9, 2007 The DJ's and listeners of SongPlanet.com have chosen their "Picks of the Month" from the tunes that were uploaded in August, and we're thrilled to be featured twice out of only 10 spots, which is quite an accomplishment! All of the top 10 songs will be played on Motmot's Featured Orbit Show on Sunday, September 9th, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. We're still working out the details, so stay tuned and don't forget to check out SongPlanet.com! Make a ski trip out of it, it will be January in Colorado after all! Click HERE for details. August 31, 2007 We're very excited to learn that the title song to our new CD, "Long Road To Your Heart", is #10 on SongPlanet.com's "Top 10 Radio Songs" from this past week! Not only that, we're listed as the #2 band from their "Top 10 Radio Artists", also from this past week! Since the songs have only been there a few days, this is quite an accomplishment! Hopefully this is the beginning to what will be a very successful CD!
August 22, 2007 Well folks, our CD, "Long Road To Your Heart", is finished and it's damn good! We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of the CD engineered and produced by Phil York of Yorktown Digital Works in Irving, Texas. It turned out as good as we thought it would, actually even better! There are 14 Moondogs originals that are sure to catch your ear, and we're excited and anxious to get them in your hands! We're expecting the CD to be out of production the second week of September, and we'll be announcing the BIG CD release party we're currently planning, so stay tuned for that big announcement!
July 1st, 2007 Just a note to let everybody know we haven't gone anywhere, we're just not gigging for now. We're getting very close to finishing up the new CD, and we're spending a great deal of time concentrating on making it something special! So when it's complete, we'll be back on the road promoting it, and we'll be sure to let you know when and where.
June 8th, 2007 We're back at our old stomping grounds, John B's in Arlington. We have a blast every time we play there, and we're sure this time will be no different, so come on out and enjoy the evening!
June 1st, 2007 We are thrilled to be invited back to KG's Sports Grill in Mansfield! We were booked to play there on May 4th, but had to postpone due to illness. We're back and we're ready to rock the place, so please make the trip this time, we won't let you down! KG's is located at 581 W. Debbie Lane in Mansfield, just south of Highway 287. It's actually on the southwest corner of FM 157 & Debbie Lane, across the street from the big QT gas station. The music begins at 10:00 PM and we'll be playing until 1:00 AM, so please come on out and support us like you always do, we'll greatly appreciate it! Remember, the bigger the crowd we draw the more often they'll have us back, and after the disappointment of not being able to make it on May 4th, we owe them one. Let's empty their bar!
May 4th, 2007 Postponed due to illness. Regrettably we had to postpone our appearance at KG's Sports Grill. The flu bug has hit Brett, our drummer. We were going to try an acoustic gig, but that didn't work out either. Our apologies go out to the everyone that had planned to come out to hear us. An email was sent to everybody on our list, so I hope you received it in time. The owner's of KG's have been kind enough to give us another shot at it on Friday, June 1st. We're grateful for another chance and promise to put on a show they won't soon forget! Thanks Polly!
April 14th, 2007 We're Finally In The Recording Studio! We're excited to be in the studio at Yorktown Digital Works in Irving, Texas recording a new CD! We've been looking forward to this for a long time, and it's finally here! We promise it will be great and well worth the wait, so hang in there just a little longer. It should be ready for release this summer and we'll have a huge party to celebrate, so keep checking the site for updated information!
March 9th, 2007 March 31st, 2007 We're excited to be returning to John B's in Arlington on Friday, March 9th, then again on Saturday, March 31st, both nights beginning at 9:00 PM. We had a blast the last time we were there on back-to-back nights in January, so we're sure it will be just as much fun this time around. For all of my high school classmates that came last time, thank you! We would love to see you again at John B's on the upcoming dates, so please come on out, it's sure to be another party!
February 17th, 2007 The Moondogs will be appearing again at Southlake Carroll High School for their annual Mardi Gras party for the special needs students. We always enjoy performing for this group of kids, they are absolutely the most receptive and appreciative group we see all year, so thank you for having us again!
January 23rd, 2007 We would like to thank Larry at John B's for this past weekend, we had an absolute blast! There were large and very receptive crowds both nights, and for that we thank you all! We hope you enjoyed the original tunes of The Moondogs and hope to return to John B's soon!
January 19th & 20th, 2007 The Moondogs will be performing back-to-back nights at John B's in Arlington (actually Pantego) on Friday, January 19th, and Saturday, January 20th, beginning at 9:00 PM both nights. Since this is the area where Bryan of The Moondogs grew up, he's asking all his friends & family to come out for the Saturday night gig. In fact, he's trying to get together a sort of mini-reunion of his high school classmates. So if you're a graduate of Arlington High School from the mid-70's, come on out to what is sure to be an absolute blast! Bryan wants you to know the first round of drinks are on John Dodenhoff, he just doesn't know it yet! Click here for a map to the club. You can zoom in and out for different views. Recommended route from Interstate 20 is to exit Bowen Road and go north for just under 2 miles. Bowen Road does go all the way through now, the map doesn't show the new part of the road. Turn right on Arkansas Lane and it will be on the left side. It's on Arkansas Lane between Bowen Road and Fielder Road.
October 28, 2006 The Moondogs will be playing the Barton School Carnival in Irving again this year, we just love playing for a captive audience!
September 15, 2006 The Moondogs were recently asked to enter a song into a contest being held by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and their annual "Race for the Cure". The Foundation is looking for a new theme song for their cause, and of course we were thrilled to have been asked to participate. The race itself is in Dallas on Saturday, October 21st. We think we have a winner, so wish us luck! The song was written by Gary Castleberry. The beautiful voice you will hear is of course our very own Susan Devlin. Click on the song title below to hear it, and please let us know what you think!
August 13, 2006 The Moondogs are proud to be one of the first bands to kick off The Texas! Music Center Sunday Showcase. As part of their ongoing commitment to support and promote Texas artists and live music, this series of free performances will be held monthly at the 4050 Chop House in Addison, which is located at 4050 Belt Line Road. It will begin as a once-a-month event, but the Showcase may be held more frequently as community support grows.
The Moondogs are now on MySpaceMusic, be sure to check it out!
The Moondogs now have an Electronic Press Kit (EPK), so if you're interested in booking the band, please go to this site for information.
The Moondogs are now on Song Planet, "A place where independent artist get heard."
July 25, 2006 The Moondogs are extremely excited to welcome back to the band Susan Devlin Yes, it's true, Susan is back and teaming up with Eli to make what is sure to be an unbelievable vocal duo that will be second to none! This is the most exciting news around the Dog Pound since Gary announced he wore a thong! (Actually, Lisa was the only one that got worked up over that!) We are very excited about our reunion with Susan, and just as excited to have two such beautiful voices singing The Moondogs originals! When we start gigging again (real soon), you simply must come out to here them sing! You will not be disappointed!
April 1, 2006 We are very excited to announce the addition of our new lead singer, a truly talented vocalist, Elizabeth Brewer. Eli (as she likes to be called), was sent to us by our producer Phil York, thanks Phil! We knew immediately that Phil had sent us a fantastic, energetic, and personable singer when she first walked through the door at our rehearsal studio. We were in the middle of The Beatles classic "Back in the USSR" and she went straight to a microphone and jumped right in before we even spoke! Now that's confidence! And what a voice, we were blown away! After a long, exhausting, and seemingly endless search for the voice we've been looking for to give The Moondogs originals the sound they deserve, we've finally found her! She's an extremely talented singer that you simply have to hear, so stay tuned to this website, we'll be hitting the scene around town in a very short time! Welcome to The Moondogs Eli!!!!
September 10, 2005 The Moondogs played their first gig since the addition of Scott on drums and the re-introduction of Paul on lead guitar. They débuted a lot of new material as well as playing The Moondogs standards, and the songs were truly a hit! The crowd was very responsive to the music and the compliments were flying! In fact The Moondogs were asked by several people to play at some of their upcoming parties, and they certainly look forward to that! "We want to thank Pat & JoJo for the opportunity of débuting our music at their party! We had a blast and made a lot of new friends! We would also like to thank everyone in attendance for their enthusiasm and support, we really appreciate it!" Lisa, Gary, Paul, Scott & Bryan.
August 27, 2005 We move into our spacious new rehearsal studio in Arlington "This is a place where we can really spread out with plenty of elbow room for all 6 of us! We converted a large conference room in Bryan's office building into our new rehearsal studio, and we just love it! We couldn't ask for a better place, and it's free! Check out the pictures!"
August 20, 2005 Lead Guitarist News: The wait is over! The Moondogs are excited to welcome back lead guitar player Paul Caceres to the band! As most of you long-time Moondogs fans know, Paul was the original lead guitarist and is in fact behind the fantastic guitar playing that is heard on the first Moondogs CD (click on the favorite links page to get to SongPlanet.com to hear.) Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in not only playing lead guitar, but writing, arranging and producing songs that will no doubt compliment the song writing of Lisa and Gary Castleberry. Paul also brings a tasteful and very imaginative lead guitar into the mix that fits perfectly with The Moondogs originals. The sound is now the way it was meant to be! Welcome back Paul!
The final piece of the puzzle is now in place. The Moondogs have their lead guitarist signed, sealed and delivered, and their new drummer ready to go. Now they'll be planted in the rehearsal hall and recording studio creating what should be a hit collection of truly fantastic original songs. Those of you that have heard The Moondogs perform live are familiar with some of them, but there are a lot of fantastic new tunes you haven't heard yet. So be patient, it gets better (if that's possible) and they promise you it will be worth the wait! If The Moondogs play a gig between recording sessions, They'll let you know. Please go to the mailing list page and leave your contact information there, and they'll be in touch!
