Rhythm Guitar & Vocals

Seeing The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, Gary was inspired by Ringo Starr’s drumming and the early stages of the British invasion that soon followed. He picked up a set of drumsticks and was never the same. Forming one of the areas first rock-n-roll bands, The Morlocks, Gary played just about everywhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He then progressed to other bands throughout the Dallas area such as Speed Limit, The Herd and more recently, The Dave Tapley Band.

Even though Gary began his musical career as a drummer, he always had a passion for the guitar. He first picked one up in the late 60’s just for fun, but soon became an accomplished guitarist. This would later prove invaluable.

Gary was influenced early on by the drumming of Ringo Starr and Buddy Rich. His songwriting influences are John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Billy Joel, which is very noticeable in some of the original tunes of The Moondogs.
